This is the fastest maturing variety of any broad bean and an early spring sowing will outyield all others. Up to 34 good pods per plant! It is a good bean for freezing as it does not discolour.
Sow the seed any time from late winter to early summer 5cm (2in) deep 23cm (9in) apart in double rows 9in apart with approx. 60cm (24in) between each pair of rows. Plant height: 90 cm (36 inches).
As the plants grow support with stout canes and string as necessary. Pinch out tips of the plants when in full flower to help the pods swell and to help reduce infestation of blackfly. Pick frequently whilst young and tender.
