New for 2007 this is probably one of the most well known and reliable spring cabbages which produces firm pointed and well flavoured hearts on compact plants.
These seeds can also be sown or planted closely for delicious 'spring greens' ready to harvest from February.Sow July to August for overwintering or in spring for summer cutting.
Sow seed thinly 1cm deep in drills 23cm apart in soil raked to a fine tilth and which contains plenty of compost or manure. Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle spacing by 30-38cm each way or at 10cm apart for 'spring greens'.
Water regularly especially in dry periods. Hoe between plants as required. Harvest February as greens or April-May as hearted cabbage.
