Description: ‘Black Magic’ has purplish-black leaves. Also known as Elephant Ear, this exotic foliage plant has large leaves with prominent veins. Yellowish/white flowers are produced in summer. It will grow in damp conditions or up to 15 cm of water.

Needs protection from frost: bring in to a greenhouse or conservatory in winter, or dry down the plant in it’s pot and store it in a dark, frost-free spot where it will remain dormant until put out again in spring. Fertilise generously. Height 1-2m The ‘Taro Plant’ has edible tubers, for which it is widely cultivated in some tropical countries.
