HRH Prince of Wales created Duchy Originals in 1990 due to his belief in the clear advantages of organic farming; the production of natural and healthy foods and sound agriculture which helps to regenerate and protect the countryside and wildlife.
These attractive golden skinned cylindrical fruits are found on vigorous bushy plants - Courgette Soleil is delicious in salads soups and pasta dishes.
Sow mid April to early June 2cm deep in 7cm pots or cells using multipurpose compost. Place in a propagator at 20-25C until germination which takes up to 7 days. These can also be sown outdoors in warm soil from May. Plant out into rich moist well prepared soil once frost risk has passed 60cm apart each way. Keep well watered and harvest regularly to ensure continuous cropping. Crop July to frosts Courgette Soleil is tolerant to Powdery Mildew.
