David Austin Rose Wild Edric - One Bareroot Plant

Wild Edric was a Saxon Lord from Shropshire who was said to have married a fairy Queen. He criticised her one day and she disappeared -legend has it that his ghost is still be to seen searching for her in the hills.Wild Edric starts as attractively pointed purple-pink buds that gradually open up to a semi-double flower of deep velvety-pink with shades of purple and mauve revealing a group of yellow stamens. Its fragrance is strong a combination on pure clove from the stamens and Old rose from the petals with hints of watercress and cucumber.

Planting: Plant as soon as possible and make sure the roots do not dry out. When planting the base of the stems should be about 7.5cm below ground level. If immediate planting is not possible keep the roses in the sealed bag or box in a cold but frost-free place for no more than two weeks.
Soil Type: Roses will grow in a wide range of soils though whatever type they are in they do appreciate good soil preparation. Adding a generous quantity of well-rotted manure or garden compost before planting will help to ensure strong growth.Planting Position: Plant in a location with at least a few hours of sun each day and where the roots of the rose will not be in competition with the roots of plants - especially trees and hedges.
