Rosa Canina will grow in any suitable soil in particular well drained soil in sun or shade. It will withstand strong winds. The Rosa Canina has no serious insect or disease problems. Potential insects include aphids caterpillars deer glasshouse red spider mite leafcutting bees leafhoppers rabbits rose leafrolling sawfly and scale insects. Only birds will eat the bitter cherries.
