Matteuccia orientalis is a rare Asian species of Matteuccia with long, arching fronds in the centre turning brown in winter. The larger fertile fronds are upright and decorative throughout the winter months. The Oriental Ostrich Fern has large, distinctive spreading foliage preferring moist soil and dappled shade.
