A self-fertile midseason pear that is ready to pick in early October. Known as a 'butter pear' as its velvety flesh lacks the grittiness found in some other varieties. Pick fruits whilst still firm and they'll store at least until Christmas. Bring indoors as needed and they will ripen in a day or so, when the rich aromatic flavour and delicious juiciness can be enjoyed to the full!Pears are one of the easiest of garden fruit trees with very few pest, disease or other cultural problems.
