Cherry Colney - Fruit Tree Cherry Colney - Fruit Tree

Crops in: August
Rootstock: Colt (semi-dwarf)
Availability: Pre-Order
Dispatched: From late October

Description: Delicious new late variety, bred in Norfolk UK, with large deep red to black fruits, sweet and full of juice.

Pollination: Group 5. Each variety has ideal pollinators. These groups are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 according to flowering time. Best results will be obtained if this variety is planted near another cherry of the same group or one group either side (so an ideal pollinator for a group 5 variety is one in group 4, 5 or 6). In normal suburban planting, however, cherries are usually planted in sufficient numbers to give adequate pollination.

Instances of poor pollination are nearly always caused by bad weather at blossom time, limiting the activity of insects.

Planting distance: 5m (16ft)
Approximate height 4m (13ft) after 5 years.
