Eriobotrya japonica is an unusual, evergreen fruit tree bearing large leaves up to 30cm long. Resembling sweet chestnut the leaves are deep green, very thick and stiff with whitish furry undersides. The Loquat fruit, edible and pear-shaped, appears on the tree in very sheltered areas, especially after a hot summer. In warm sunny locations clusters of small, white, fragrant flowers appear in autumn. Plant against a south facing wall or sheltered location. Stem height between 105cm-145cm. Total Height between 150cm - 210cm. 10cm girth. Eventual Height: 4mts Eventual Spread: 3mts Deciduous Full Sun Flowering Time: Autumn
