Morus alba Morus alba

The Morus alba or 'White Mullberry' is a beautiful architectural tree with a rounded habit. It has large green, heart shaped leaves with monoecious flowers (individual flowers that are either male or female but both appear on the same plant). The edible fruit of the Morus alba start white but turns a reddish pink or dark purple. Morus alba is the plant used for the cultivation of silk worms.  The White Mullberry prefers moist, well-drained soil.
