SCP Modernica Apple Bubble Pendant Light By George Nelson SCP Modernica Apple Bubble Pendant Light By George Nelson

SCP Modernica Apple Bubble Pendant Light By George Nelson. The Bubble Lamp was designed by George Nelson in 1947 as an innovative alternative to existing pendant lighting. Initially, it was produced by Howard Miller in 1952 but ceased production in 1979. In the 1990s Modernica reissued these timeless lamps, which are as evocative now as they were back then. Nelson dressed the steel wire skeleton with a spray coating of translucent plastic polymer and created a lamp that simultaneously softens and anchors surrounding space. The Bubble Lamp is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Adjustable cable length up to 180cm.
